Is there a connection between 11:11 and soul mates?

In the film I Origins, the repetitive occurrence of 11:11 brought two soul mates together. The 11-11 coincidences mysteriously guide Ian Gray to his love interest and soul mate, Sofi Elizondo. When Sofi sees Ian's eyes, she has the feeling that they are connected from past lives. While Ian's physical body changed from a past life, his soul remained the same in this life. And it is the spark of light of Ian's soul that Sofi recognizes through the window of his eyes.
