Is there a connection between 11:11 and soul mates?
Los Angeles-based writer and director Mike Cahill made an American drama film about science and spirituality and included a special scene about how the repetitive occurrence of 11:11 brought two soul mates together.
The film sparked conversation since it premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2014 and thoughtfully addresses the very real phenomenon of meaningful coincidences. Cahill's movie, I Origins, tells the story of Ian Gray, a molecular biologist studying the human eye, who starts his journey by following the 11:11 signs that eventually lead him to discover something spiritual that challenges his scientific beliefs.
The Coincidence of the 11:11 Signs
In I Origins, Ian starts noticing the 11:11 signs everywhere. He buys a lottery ticket at a 7-11 mini-market on Nov. 11 and receives $11.11 in change. He sees that the time is 11:11 and rides bus number 11. These 11-11 coincidences mysteriously guide him to his love interest and soul mate, Sofi Elizondo. When Sofi sees Ian's eyes, she has the feeling that they are connected from past lives. Reincarnation research experts say that when you remember someone from a past life, the eyes are the first thing you recognize. This leads to the proverb, "The eyes are the windows to the soul."
If a person meets you and recognizes something special about your eyes, it is probably a good sign that you connected with them in a past life. While your physical body changes from lifetime to lifetime, your soul remains the same — time after time — and it is the "light" of your soul that a person recognizes through the window of your eyes.
The Significance of 11:11 Synchronicity
The strangely meaningful string of 11:11 coincidences that Ian encounters are examples of the "synchronicity" term coined by Carl Jung, the renowned Swiss psychiatrist. Jung basically defined synchronicity as a "meaningful coincidence" that cannot be explained by cause and effect.
Another example of synchronicity is seeing or hearing repeating words. You may suddenly start to see and hear a certain word (e.g. "forgive") several times, in different forms (e.g. songs, movies, or books). Pay attention when this happens because it is a sign that something important is happening in your life, and it is the Universe's way of sending you a message.
So, in matters of relationships, if you keep hearing and seeing "forgive," it might be a sign for you to finally let go any guilt or anger from the past so you can start the process to heal inside and make room for peace in your life. Forgiveness sets you free, and it is the best form of achieving peace in your heart and mind.
Synchronistic events can be viewed as a form of guidance from the Universe to help you make life choices by pointing you in a whole new direction. Other times, it is a sign to reassure you that you are on the right path toward your destination.
In I Origins, Ian follows a string of 11:11 synchronicities to find Sofi which leads him on a quest to India. There, he discovers a child with eyes that match those of Sofi's, and Ian begins to wonder about the possibility of reincarnated souls.

My childhood sweetheart and husband died after an 18-year battle with a brain tumor. His birthday was on 11 11.
At his last surgery to remove a piece of his brain tumor, it finally appeared on the surgical screen at 11:11, after a very long wait. Since his death in 2013, I have seen 111 and 11:11 sequences constantly.
I have been on a spiritual journey in the last couple of years. I have always been aware that I know things I had no way of knowing, even before they happened.
I have also always had angels guiding me and am very aware of them watching and guiding me since I was in my 20s. I have also seen a ghost; he was a shepherd carrying a staff.
Recently, I believe an angel, disguised as a tall, muscular young man, appeared to me, reminding me I was protected in an uncertain situation when I encountered a creepy man on my walking path. I’m not sure if the young man scared the other man away, but I noticed the young man running effortlessly on his tiptoes toward the other man. It seemed like the young man wasn’t even touching the ground, as he vanished once he entered the wooded path area.
I have always believed in God and knew angels exist, but I never went to church on a weekly basis (perhaps because my strong spirituality and beliefs made me feel it wasn’t necessary).
But finally, I had a call from the Holy Spirit, and it was time. It’s been an amazing journey taking me deeper into my faith and Bible Studies.
Long story short, go with your gut. If you constantly see the signs, repeating things or numbers, it is the universe telling you to wake up. There is something greater waiting for you or you are supposed to make a life change.
Remember, the Bible tells us suffering is part of life but gives us great rewards in the end, so don’t ever give up!

Don’t be afraid to awaken to a whole new consciousness if it’s calling you. When you enter a consciousness of constant Love, Joy, and Gratitude, you find Peace!
I am constantly seeing number patterns. I have seen them for a while, about ten years.
I have always had odd experiences, like run-ins with spirits as a child. The experiences scared me. I tried to block the path and not see them, and it worked. I recently learned what I did, closing off my third eye.
I have been practicing meditation and vibrations to open up the channel. It has worked as I have felt more connected with these things I previously mentioned, but I also find myself knowing something no one should ever know or have the answers to before they are actually said or given.
So that said, I know there is more to me and something different or special, but I don’t have a guide or someone who can help. This is a slow process as a result.
So, I seek all info I can read to be relevant to my research and apply what I can to improve my skills and abilities.
I see others are on similar journeys. I am hoping to find help.

Time passed, and I grew more interested. I did not have a teacher, so I learned by reading about metaphysics. My mom found my metaphysical books and disapproved. Then I stopped learning.
After over 15-20 years, I keep hearing this calling! I never stopped helping others. Now more than ever, I see the numbers everywhere: 1111 / 111 / 222 / 444 / 888 / 999 / 333. The universe is speaking to me, and it is time to listen!
