Is there a connection between 11:11 and soul mates?
Los Angeles-based writer and director Mike Cahill made an American drama film about science and spirituality and included a special scene about how the repetitive occurrence of 11:11 brought two soul mates together.
The film sparked conversation since it premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2014 and thoughtfully addresses the very real phenomenon of meaningful coincidences. Cahill's movie, I Origins, tells the story of Ian Gray, a molecular biologist studying the human eye, who starts his journey by following the "11:11" signs that eventually lead him to discover something spiritual that challenges his scientific beliefs.
Following The 11:11 Signs — The Wake-Up Call
In I Origins, Ian starts noticing the "11" signs everywhere. He buys a lottery ticket at a 7-11 mini-market on Nov. 11 and receives $11.11 in change. He sees that the time is 11:11 and rides bus number 11. These "11-11" coincidences mysteriously guide him to his love interest and soul mate, Sofi Elizondo. When Sofi sees Ian's eyes, she has the feeling that they are connected from past lives. Reincarnation research experts say that when you remember someone from a past life, the eyes are the first thing you recognize. This leads to the proverb, "The eyes are the windows to the soul."
If a person meets you and recognizes something special about your eyes, it is probably a good sign that you connected with them in a past life. While your physical body changes from lifetime to lifetime, your soul remains the same — time after time — and it is the "light" of your soul that a person recognizes through the window of your eyes.
11:11 Synchronicity
The strangely meaningful string of "11" coincidences that Ian encounters are examples of the "synchronicity" term coined by Carl Jung, the renowned Swiss psychiatrist. Jung basically defined synchronicity as a "meaningful coincidence" that cannot be explained by cause and effect.
Another example of synchronicity is seeing or hearing repeating words. You may suddenly start to see and hear a certain word (e.g. "forgive") several times, in different forms (e.g. songs, movies, or books). Pay attention when this happens because it is a sign that something important is happening in your life, and it is the Universe's way of sending you a message.
So, in matters of relationships, if you keep hearing and seeing "forgive," it might be a sign for you to finally let go any guilt or anger from the past so you can start the process to heal inside and make room for peace in your life. Forgiveness sets you free, and it is the best form of achieving peace in your heart and mind.
Synchronistic events can be viewed as a form of guidance from the Universe to help you make life choices by pointing you in a whole new direction. Other times, it is a sign to reassure you that you are on the right path toward your destination.
In I Origins, Ian follows a string of "11" synchronicities to find Sofi which leads him on a quest to India. There, he discovers a child with eyes that match those of Sofi's, and Ian begins to wonder about the possibility of reincarnated souls.

I’m going through some major changes, but it feels good to see the number 11:11 appear nearly daily. I see it as a sign of hope and love.
I used to get synchronicity all the time as a young kid. Not with numbers but with things I wanted to know. Any new concept that sparked my interest would then appear in abundance on that same day, and then it would repeat for days afterward in very strange ways.
I started to develop what I called my “theory of coincidence.” I could recall what this “theory” was, but it was too long ago, and I just remember it being more than a “coincidence.” As I grew older and left for high school, I had become an atheist, rejecting the religion I was taught.
I became a follower of logic and reason with a keen interest in Science. Synchronicity left my life completely. It just became a distant memory of those weird things that happened, that I would sometimes recall to people. I became fascinated with the mind, with dreams, and exploring consciousness.
I spent my 20s exploring psychedelic states and pursuing “breakthrough” experiences. To me, this was all just head stuff I was exploring. I had never heard of “Terrence Mckenna” or others like him. I had never heard the term “machine elves” or other entities. I was always just exploring the potential of the mind and seeing what consciousness can do.
This all led to me having a crazy “biblical-like” reality breaking experience, which years later found to be called “Samadhi,” or more specifically in this case, “AUM Samadhi.” This experience made me question everything, and it scared me away from hallucinogens.
Four years later, I was shown something strange: Vedic Astrology. I felt compelled to disprove it. After doing my own chart, and reading translations of those meanings, I was hit hard emotionally. This had predicted some very dark events in my early life. It seemed to plot out my whole life, filled with suffering. But then, it says I would find new hope and a new direction through spirituality.
I went to bed distraught. I have suffered so much in my early life, and it all seems it was pre-planned? But when I awoke the next morning, everything seemed different. I felt full of positivity, yet having gone to bed so upset. The world seemed more vibrant. I am not sure what happened in my sleep that night, or where I traveled to, but I think when I awoke, I accepted that there was more to this reality.
Then, I remembered the trip experience I had, and I started to investigate these things further, which led me down a path of knowledge. From that morning onwards, synchronicity returned to my life, and it has been very powerful and it is still here today. I now also use the Tarot to provide the universe with more tools for communication.

I’ve been seeing 11:11 and 911 everywhere. Actually, the number 11 is within the date of every birthday of my kids (11/6, 9/11, 11/24, and my own 11/18). In numerology, my numbers are 11s and 8s. I am always left wondering why me, and why am I drenched n 11s?
I’ve been researching about synchronicity for years. I’ve continually experienced repeating number sequences, and it’s all amazing.
I have been seeing 1111 for the past 2 years at least once or twice a day. I even work at 1111 Franklin Street. I got an 11:11 tattoo for Mother’s Day this year 2019. I also see 333. I feel very calm when I see these numbers.
